Parish Basic Allowance
Parish basic allowance is paid to recognise the time and effort that members put into their parish duties. In setting the level of this allowance, the Town Council has followed the recommendations of an Independent Remuneration Panel, which was set up in accordance with the statutory requirements.
This allowance helps to meet the costs of expenditure necessarily incurred by Members of the Town Council in representing the community, and enables interested candidates to stand for election irrespective of their personal income.
